Patrick Wolf plays Slim's next month!
Mon. June 8, 2009
Patrick Wolf at Slim's
Presented by NYLON Summer Music Tour

After doing some research on the opening acts, I notice that they are an odd pairing for Patrick. The last time he came around Bishi opened for him. Her brand of music complimenting his. I think that he had less to say about the opening acts, since it's presented by Nylon.

First we have Jaguar Love. This guys voice bug the shit out of me. I hope they are the first band so I can miss them.try to enjoy this annoying crapCollapse )

Next we have the Plastiscines. A french all girl band that I'm curious about. This song is catchy enough to keep my attention.Check out BarcelonaCollapse )

Then we have Living Things, who I'll be looking into for sure. I've listened to this song like six million times already.Check out OxygenCollapse )

Finally we have Patrick Wolf. Whose current album is a lot more hard hitting than his previous album. He alone is worth the 16 bucks for this show.Check out VultureCollapse )

New Depeche Mode
It's only 192kbps, but it sounded fine from what I could hear...

Depeche Mode - Sounds of the Universe

Mediafire deleted the file and if I thought the album was worth it, I'd re-up it somewhere else. But really...you don't need this album. Trust me.

Patrick Wolf-Vulture
Looks like another fantastic album from Patrick Wolf is on the horizon. The first single Vulture is my new jam. Now to find a club quality bit rate for the dancefloor.

The video is a little work unfriendly.

Metric - Stadium Love
Fischerspooner - Door Train Home
Little Boots - Stuck On Repeat
Trentemoller - Gush
ABBA - The Visitors (Crackin' Up)
Flight of the Conchords - Fashion Is Danger
Pet Shop Boys - Vulnerable
Franz Ferdinand - No You Girls (Vince Clarke Remix)
Bat For Lashes - Pearl's Dream
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Dull Life
Peter Bjorn & John - It Don't Move Me
Lily Allen - The Fear
La Roux - Quicksand
Grafton Primary - She Knows It
Royksopp - This Must Be It
Lady GaGa - I Like It Rough
The Legends - Closer
Phoenix - 1901

(And here's the whole thing in a zip file)

Yes ABBA. Shut it. It's a good song. It's, like, about alien abduction or something. Anyway, the rest is almost all new stuff. If you only download one of these, I HIGHLY recommend the Metric song. I've been completely addicted to it over the past few days. Get it now before it's used in a commercial, because I guarantee you that it will be.

Heart-Ache (a Mix CD Set)
Hello, Longtime watcher, first time poster. What I am sharing is a two disk mix titled Heart-Ache. Filled with a mix variety of music. I hope you enjoy.

Heart-Ache is a compilation of songs that relate to a recently ceased relationship. The mixes in both respects were Theraputic to their cause. So On to the first Disk "Heart"

Heart was originally a bonafide mix tape (A real cassette tape) I made for this girl but never got the chance due to her flightly ways. Since it was a real tape it is hence split in two parts ironically named Rise and Run.

Ache is basically a modified version of a play list I made when the break up was officially made clear. This play list tries to convey the motion of a breakup.

Is it too early for best of 2008's?
Who else besides Skinheadbrian, Orko, and myself want to post some music up in this joint?

I started putting together my favorite tracks from 2008. The list ended up being a two disc best of. Beat Control(disc one) has more of the indie/hipster/rock tracks from the year. Death Guild B-Sides(disc two) is a compilation I've done for the past five years. It contains my favorite tracks that got played or should be played at Death Guild in 2008.

Make a wish and blow it out
It all started with this painting I did a few months ago. I'm always sketching cartooning people, so I tried to paint one of them. Not sure how I feel about the final product. The image worked it's way into my head and came out as a playlist. Enjoy

So beautiful and strange..
On May 3rd I'll be celebrating my birthday by DJing at New Wave City. It's a Cure tribute night so I thought some people in this community might want to know about it. So here's the flyer for all the info.

So this post isn't all club spam stuff, I've uploaded my five fav Cure songs of the moment. I think the only fav of all time would be This Twilight Garden. The rest change often. What say you? what are your five picks?

You Can't Survive On Ice Cream
Last week the weather was perfect. I left the house in shorts and just wanted to fly a kite in the park or go on a road trip with friends. I searched through my ipod creating an on-the-go playlist that fit my mood that day. It is one of my best compilations I think. Enjoy!

Cities In Dust
Junkie XL-Cities In Dust

After years in the "goth" scene there comes a time when great songs become blah songs. Mainly due to being played to death. Siouxsie and the Banshee's Cities In Dust was one of these casualties. On Junkie XL's latest release he was able to breathe new life into the song.

Here's a video someone made using the song Reload featuring Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode fame. The video makes T3 seem like a movie I'd actually enjoy, unlike the piece of scrap metal it was.

Man I love me some robots!
